[Maxis] Unlimited Internet Access for Subscription Above 1GB of Data Plan
Christmas comes early for Maxis. Effective 3rd Dec, no additional charges if you exceed your data quota. Only throttling of the speed. This is only applicable for those subscriber who are currently having 1GB or more data plan. Too bad for those 500MB or below subscriber. Earlier, you would have to pay RM0.30/MB whenever you exceeded the quota.

Samsung GALAXY Camera - RM1899
Samsung GALAXY Camera was officially announced today in Malaysia with the price tag of RM1899. It will be available for sale starting tomorrow (29th Nov 2012).
It has a screen display size of 4.77-inch Super Clear LCD capable of 1280 x 720 resolution. In terms of connectivities, GALAXY Camera has built-in 3G and WiFi with DLNA and Samsung Kies connectivity as well. Obviously HDMI 1.4 is a standard as well. The camera is powered by a quad-core 1.4GHz processor with the Android Jelly Bean 4.1.
Just so that we don't forget this is a camera, it has 16MP with 1/2.3" BSI CMOS sensor. The lens is f = 4.1 - 86.1mm (35mm film equivalent: 23 - 483mm) with 21x zooming. Internal storage capacity of 8GB with extension via microSD card capable of 64GB SDXC. Battery capacity of 1650mAh with microUSB charging capability. The device comes in White and Cobalt Black.
So, what's the difference between a normal camera and the GALAXY Camera? Connectivity.
Powered by Android OS with built-in 3G and WiFi connectivity, sharing a picture is definitely much easier and faster. No more hard-wired transfer from the camera to the computer and sharing via internet application like Facebook or Twitter. You can now do it directly on the camera. With DLNA and HDMI, sharing pictures or videos at home is simple. Although it does not allow you to make phone calls, you should be able to perform internet calls for example Skype.

Oppo Ulike 2 - 5MP Front Facing Camera
Tired of taking lousy low resolution self-portrait from your smartphone? Chinese Oppo Ulike 2 might be the solution for you. Not only does it has 8MP rear camera, it spots a 5MP front facing camera with some fancy software features like skin tone re-colouring. It was rumored to be running on a Android 4.0 ICS with dual-core, 1GB RAM. Nevertheless, the display size of 4.5-inch was reported to be slightly odd with 960 x 540 resolution. It has 16GB internal memory which supports external microSD card as well.
Oppo is the company that brought you the world most slimmest smartphone which is Oppo Finder with a thickness of only 6.65mm.
The device is widely expected to be announced on the 12th Dec.

[Maxis] iPhone 5 Launching in MidValley 9th November?
Above table shows the Maxis One Club Promotion to be held between 5th ~ 11th November at MidValley North Court. Sources are suggesting that this could actually be the iPhone 5 launching event for Maxis One Club members. In my opinion, I think the official sales should start on 9th November which is a Friday. Same case with iPhone 4S, I believe the Apple Online Store will also be selling the device outright.

Samsung Galaxy Note II Packages Compared (Maxis, DiGi, Celcom)
All the 3 major telcos released their respective packages for the Samsung Galaxy Note II recently.
Let's take a look at the comparison between them.
As usual, the price are compared only with the lowest monthly commitment of 12 months, 18 months and 24 months. Both Maxis and Celcom packages are almost identical.
At the first glance, DiGi package looks to be the most attractive but please take note that all DG Smart Plans are without calls and SMS bundling. To make it more realistic for comparison purposes, the table below shows Maxis's latest SurfMore package with comparison with DG Smart Plan. Both packages are without calls and SMS bundling.
