Rumors are not circulating that the Apple new launching of the iPhone 5 will be held on September 8th (Malaysian time zone).
Most probable announcement should be the long awaited iPhone 5 and the iOS 5 integration of iCloud.
iPad 3 will probably not be in the agenda.
Apple was almost the world's most valuable company in yesterday's trading. Climbing to $337.17 billion beating Exxon Mobil of $330.77 billion. At least for a brief moment.
Take note that Apple was once upon a time in the verge of going to bankrupt!
Apple is due to announce iPhone 5 in September or October 2011 and perhaps few months later with iPad 3.
Update (12.08.11): Exxon is now back at the top spot with market capitalization of $348 billion compared to Apple's $346.5 billion.
Finally, no more needs of downloading 3.5GB from the slow network. It was mentioned earlier during the first few days of Lion launching, there will be a USB stick version for the upgrade from Snow Leopard. Price is at $69.
Obviously you can always make you own USB bootable Lion after downloading from Apple Store but the idea of Apple coming out with $69 USB sticks is for those having slow internet connectivity at home.
The team in Facebook Inc. just released Facebook Messenger app for iOS and Androids.
Obviously it's free. It's a standalone app which is just for texting/chatting.
It simplifies the problem that you need to load up your Facebook app and go to message section each time you get a new message form your friends.
It's basically the whole idea of Facebook buying over Beluga sometime in February.
Another interesting part is that, it was rumored that the current Facebook Messenger app has the hidden capability of supporting video calls as well. We will have to wait and see for now..
Now, with this new app by Facebook, would it post a threat to Whatsapp?
Now it's Acer's turn perhaps? This would be ultimate rivalry between Acer and Apple with the almost easily deceived version of Macbook Air, dubbed as the Acer Aspire 3951. Perhaps when it actually launches, it should have a more flashy name. 3951 will probably not make it to the mind of most people after a week or so.
Interestingly the design is almost similar to the well known Macbook Air. It even comes with aluminum design. Just like the Apple machine, it has 13.3" display. Weight reported to also be almost similar to the Macbook Air, estimated to be 1.4kg. The Air weighs 1.35kg. There is an optional 160GB SSD and perhaps a HDMI slot as well.
Obviously it does not have Thunderbolt port and definitely will not run on OSX Lion.
Most interestingly would definitely be the price. No definite price available for the moment.
It was announced sometime back in April 2011 that Sony is also trying to fit into the tablet war with Apple, HTC, Samsung and the rest of the guys.
Current naming found all over the internet are Sony S1 and S2.
It is expected that the screen size for the S1 is 9.4"with a resolution of 1280x800. There is also a front facing camera right. The design looks a little awkward as it doesn't fulfill the usual tablet design.
Few buttons are shown on the side, ON, volume up/down and perhaps a slot for memory expansion. It is also spotted with a hard reset button which we don't see normally in the tablet nowadays. Sony expecting problems with the Android Honeycomb 3.2 software? Maybe..
At the rear is the usual rear camera.
The Sony S2 spots two 5.5" display in a curvy design at the back. It looks very much like the Nintendo DS.
Sony does have a sense when designing gadgets but the usual problem with Sony is with the price. Take a look at the Sony P series so called notebook. It's sleek and nice design but the price is too costly. Hope that would not happen in this tablet case. Otherwise, it'll not stand a chance with the iPad or the Samsung Tab.
This would probably be the closes mock-up to the real iPhone 5 based on the rumors. Latest rumors also note that it would get much bigger screen than anticipated. Sources also noted that Apple will be selling iPhone 5 as early as 5th September.
Finally, the new family series of Torch and Bold are launched today by RIM.
They are the Blackberry Torch 9810, Blackberry Bold 9900/9930 and the Blackberry Torch 9850/9860 running on the new Blackberry OS7.
Just to recap, the new Blackberry are all with 1.2GHz and 768MB of RAM. Do expect for smoother and faster Blackberry in the market soon. It was also said to have NFC feature as well, powering from the OS7.
It is also good to note that the processor is a single-core 1.2GHz. From the release notes, RIM claimed that the new Blackberry will be 40% faster than the older models. Now, that's interesting...
Ever wanted to have an external keyboard for your iPad? Now it's possible to use your iPhone as an external keyboard to your iPad. The app is called External Keyboard.
App develop by Gp Imports Inc, Software Development
Price: $0.99
As the iPad has a limited language in the preset, with this app, you will be able to take the advantage of the languages that are in your iPhone. It pairs with either WiFi or Bluetooth.
It's also an universal app which means you only need to pay once and download it on both your iPhone and iPad.
Update: It's only working with the web browser that comes with the app. Other than that, none of the application will work. For example, if you would like to use it to type on your mail, safari or notes, this app will not work.
I understand why it does not work on other applications. Reason simply being that this is just an app. It's not a tweak or a updated functions on the iOS.
This is just to give a note to others that they fully understand the function of the app before purchasing.
