Blackberry OS 10 Pre-Release Images

Crackberry guys managed to get a sneak preview of the upcoming Blackberry 10 OS. At a first glance, it looked almost similar to the Windows Phone GUI. I guess RIM really needs to pull this new OS together to revive the Blackberry status back to number 1 position in the smartphone category.

Video call seemed to be one of the new feature in the new Blackberry 10 OS.

Blackberry Server Down

This would be exactly what RIM would want to avoid, especially if you are charging users for your specific Blackberry services. Once known as the sole reliable and secure mobile services are now in trouble. News are circulating that the problem has now persisted for the 3rd day.
At the moment, affected locations are as below:
  • Middle East
  • Africa
  • South America
  • Europe
  • India
Press statement from RIM:
The messaging and browsing delays being experienced by BlackBerry users in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, Brazil, Chile and Argentina were caused by a core switch failure within RIM's infrastructure. Although the system is designed to failover to a back-up switch, the failover did not function as previously tested. As a result, a large backlog of data was generated and we are now working to clear that backlog and restore normal service as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and we will continue to keep you informed.
