[DiGi] New iPad Plan

DiGi is the first to launch a dataplan for the new iPad which started the sale in Malaysia last Friday. The prices in the above table are after RM5 rebate and therefore please remember to register at DiGi selected branch when you pick up the plan. Take note that only DiGi Centers are capable of registering the auto-billing and not DiGi Stores.
It starts with iPad Lite plan which costs RM25/month after auto-billing rebate. iPad Lite gives you monthly data usage of up to 500MB. Now this is slightly different from what DiGi normally does. On the iPad Lite plan, it charges 5sen/MB and with a maximum of RM90/month. Such charges is now called Pay-As-You-Use (PAYU). Nevertheless, the extra charges is only applicable to iPad Lite plan.
As for iPad Basic and iPad Pro, you will be paying RM53/month and RM83/month with a data quota of 2GB and 6GB respectively. Both the iPad Basic and iPad Pro plans do not have additional charges applicable upon exceeding the monthly data quota but the speed will be throttled to 128kbps.

Do You Have Problems With Your HTC One S Chipping Out?

HTC is reporting to replacing the HTC One S immediately upon return of your device to the location that you had purchased it from. It will be a 1-to-1 replacement terms but usually in a standard country related terms.

"HTC is committed to delivering a high quality product and great experience for all our customers. There have been a few, isolated reports of this issue. The finish on the One S was laboratory tested as being at a hardness similar to ceramic. While that's hard, it doesn't mean it's impossible to damage. Regardless, HTC takes quality very seriously and are providing all customers with an immediate fix and we are implementing some small changes to ensure customers do not experience this issue in the future."

Currently in Malaysia, we only have HTC One X and HTC One V. Hopefully there isn't any problems with the other two siblings.

HTC One Series Plan Comparison (Maxis, DiGi, Celcom, U Mobile)

As promised, the table above shows the comparison between Maxis, DiGi, Celcom and U Mobile with the different plans offered for the latest HTC One Series smartphones.
Take note that the comparison is only based on the minimum committed contract period with the lowest monthly plan offered.

At a glance, we will see that Maxis is the one which is the most expensive (RM2835) upon completion of the 12 months contract. You get Value First plan which basically provides RM30 worth of calls and SMS. Among the 4 telcos, the phone rebate for Maxis is the lowest, which in this case is RM1899. One thing to highlight is that Maxis provides 24 months warranty for the devices. Also, there is no upfront payment required.

Second in place is Celcom at RM2754 upon completion of 12 months contract. Celcom provides Celcom Exec 50 which includes RM50 worth of calls and SMS. As to why the price is quite close to Maxis (only RM81 difference), Celcom provides more rebate on the device itself.
Celcom too provide PPU (pay per use) possibility but without contract. That's the reason why you see the device price is RRP at RM2099. But there is a special rebate of RM10/month if you opt for this plan. PPU means you pay as per usage for your calls and SMS. This is good for people who seldom call or hardly send any conventional SMS since there is Whatsapp available nowadays.

DiGi on the other hand provides the most affordable package with a total commitment of RM2215 upon 12 months. As DiGi usually does it, they offer PPU package with a monthly commitment of RM43 per month after registration of auto-billing.

U Mobile was one of the first to announce the HTC One Series registration of interest. With the plan U28, it sums up to have RM2431 upon 24 months contract. Take note that U Mobile only offers 24 months contract. Calls and SMS are PPU concept but with U28 plan, it provides 100 free SMS (same network) and 200 SMS (different network).
